Every year, Sandpoint comes alive with the spirit of community and celebration during the 4th of July Parade. This event is a perfect way for families, friends, and neighbors to gather and show their hometown pride. Whether you want to participate in the parade or enjoy the festivities, Sandpoint’s Independence Day celebration offers something for everyone. How to Join the Parade
If you want to be part of the parade, the process is simple and welcoming. The Sandpoint Lions Club invites all community members to fill out an application to participate. You can access the application form online here.
After submitting your application, you can pay the parade entry fee online through this link: Parade Entry Payment. This streamlined process makes it easy to secure your spot and prepare for the big day.
What to Expect as a Participant
No need to register in advance for the kids' parade: Just bring your little ones ready to walk the parade route.
Starting point: The parade begins at the corner of 5th and Church.
Goodie bags: Volunteers will hand out goodie bags to each participant at the end of the kids' parade route.
Grand procession: After the children’s parade, the grand parade starts at 10:00 AM, moving through downtown Sandpoint.
This setup encourages families to get involved easily and enjoy a memorable experience together.
Parade Schedule and Route
The day kicks off with the Children’s Parade at 9:30 AM, where kids line up at 5th and Church. This parade is a fun, family-friendly way to start the celebration and get everyone excited.
At 10:00 AM, the Grand Parade follows, featuring a variety of floats, marching bands, community groups, and more. The route runs through downtown Sandpoint, allowing spectators to enjoy the sights and sounds of the parade from multiple vantage points.

As a club, we have always nominated and voted for our Grand Marshal(s) based on that year's chosen theme and their contributions to our community. But this year, it's YOUR TURN! We invite you to nominate someone you believe deserves to be celebrated in this year's 4th of July parade.

Post-Parade Activities and Evening Fireworks
After the parade, the celebration moves to City Beach. This area becomes a hub of activity with plenty to see and do:
Food vendors offering a variety of delicious options to satisfy every craving.
Beach fun for families and friends to relax and enjoy the summer weather.
Raffle tickets available for exciting prizes.
A beer garden for adults to unwind and socialize.
